I am a postdoctoral researcher working with Jacob Bien in the Data Sciences and Operations at the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California. I received my Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Minnesota under the supervision of Hui Zou. Before pursuing the Ph.D., I worked at a biotech company, where we developed statistical tools, some of which were later patented.
I enjoy approaching problems from both theoretical and applied perspectives. My works are broadly categorized along two threads: (1) developing statistical learning methods and theories for prediction problems and (2) applying statistical methods including deep learning to large and complex data, particularly in oceanography. At its best, the work I aspire to do across these two threads will intertwine, leading to rigorous solutions to important real-world problems.
I am on the job market for the 2024-2025 academic year.
